What is Florida Medicaid?
Florida Medicaid is a medical assistance program that provides access to health care for low-income families and individuals. Medicaid also assists aged and disabled people with the costs associated with medical care and expenses.
Medicaid Home and Community-based Services (HCBS) waiver programs are Medicaid programs that have Federal requirements waived to allow Medicaid to provide home and community-based services to individuals who would require institutionalization without these services.
HCP Home Health Agency participates in three waiver programs: 1) Aged/Disabled Adult Waiver, 2) Developmental Disability Waiver, and 3) Family Supported Living Waiver.
The Aged/disabled Adult (A/DA) Waiver is a home and community-based services program managed by the Florida Department of Elder Affairs.
The Developmental Disability (DD) Waiver and the Family Supported Living Waiver are Medicaid programs that promote home and community-based supports and services to eligible persons with developmental disabilities living at home or in a home-like setting. It is operated by the Agency for Persons with Disabilities. For information about the programs and services of the Agency for Persons with Disabilities, you can visit their website at http://apd.myflorida.com/.
